Bellrock Offshore Wind Farm Limited, a joint venture between BlueFloat Energy and Renantis, has successfully submitted its comprehensive Bellrock Wind Farm Development Area Scoping Report and Habitats Regulations Appraisal Screening Report to the Marine Directorate, as required for offshore aspects of its 1.2 gigawatt offshore wind energy project.
Bellrock, located approximately 120 km east of Stonehaven, has the potential to power over 1.1 million homes with renewable energy each year, helping achieve Scotland’s net zero targets whilst improving energy security. Bellrock will also create job opportunities, stimulate economic growth, and bolster the local supply chain.
The Scoping Report seeks opinion on the scope and detail to be included in the Wind Farm Development Area’s Environmental Impact Assessment Report, whilst the Habitats Regulations Appraisal Screening Report provides information on its potential impact on European sites of nature conservation importance.
Both reports are available on the Marine Directorate’s website and consultation closes on 8 May 2024
The reports are also available in the Library section.
